Charles “Mark” Welch, 59, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. He was born on June 2, 1948 in Port Clinton, a son of the late Charles Melvin & Mary (Lucas) Welch. He and his loving companion of 15 years, Nina Fall, owned and operated Nina’s Collectables in Port Clinton. Mark was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member and past commander of the Port Clinton VFW Post #2480; member of the Port Clinton Eagles Lodge Aerie #2295; member of the Port Clinton Amvets; and member and past commander of the Port Clinton American Legion Post 113. His hobbies included cooking. Survivors include his loving companion, Nina Fall, Port Clinton, OH and brother, Cliff (Bonnie) Welch, of Catawba Island. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 4:00 PM at the Port Clinton VFW Post #2480, 214 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with VFW Chaplain Ed Irick officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Clinton VFW.
