Charles W. "Captain Charley" Heiges, 67, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at his home. He was born on March 24, 1948 in Medina, Ohio, the son of Dale R. & Jeannette (Wait) Heiges. Charley was the former owner of Fowl Foolers of Port Clinton, where he made duck calls and decoys. He was very skilled at what he did and was the National Duck Calling Champion at one time. Charley is survived by his sister, Ann (Roger) Auker, Bradenton, Florida; nephews, David Auker and family and Douglas Auker and family. Also surviving is his close friend and hunting buddy, Larry Weiss, Sheffield Lake, Ohio. he was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Charley's Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 23, 2015 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton.
