Charles H. Rymers

Charles H. "Chuck" Rymers, 88 of Elmore, OH passed away October 24, 2016 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, WVA surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 16, 1928 in Toledo, OH to the late Robert and Margaret (Rothert) Rymers. Chuck was a 1946 graduate of Harris- Elmore High School, received his Bachelor of Education from the University of Toledo, a Masters Degree in Earth Science and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He was employed by the Monclova School District for 1 year, Harris- Elmore School District for 11 years, and retired in 1990, following over 40 years of teaching, from the Toledo Public School District as a High School Science Teacher. On June 10, 1950 he married the former Lois Jean Rieff, and she survives. Chuck enjoyed playing basketball and played in leagues including Senior Olympics until he was 82 years old. He loved to garden, collect antique toy trains and soldiers, read, watch sports, and Civil War history. He enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren watching them play their sports. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Lois of Elmore, OH; children: Tom (Gretchen) Rymers of Genoa, OH, William (Yvette) Rymers of Harrisville, WVA, David (Morena) Rymers of Beltsville, MD, and Robin (Gary) Nelson of Sandy, UT; grandchildren: David (Leah), Steven, James, Jonathon (Michelle), Patric (Amanda), Charlie, Bradly, and Cheyenne; and 4 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-7pm at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore- Genoa Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rymers Cemetery, Elmore, OH. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Genoa Library or a charity of the donor's choice.
