Charles G. "Chuck" Slauterbeck, Sr.

Charles "Chuck" Slauterbeck, Sr. 68, of Port Clinton, died July 8, 2016 surrounded by his family at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. He was born October 17, 1947, in Port Clinton, the son of Rollan "Bones" and Marie "Cotton" (Walker) Slauterbeck. He is survived by his soul mate of 24 years, April Schanke. Chuck had a passion for fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving father and grandfather to 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie 2295 and V.F.W. Post 2480 both of Port Clinton. He was a truck driver for Blatts Trucking. Surviving are April Schanke; sons: Chuck (Melissa), Scott (Becky), Bobby (Cheri), Rick (Monica) Slauterbeck all of Port Clinton; step-children: Sandra Kochensparger, Gary (Joan) Druyor, Chery Druyor, Cindy (Tim) Morelock, James Wright, Paula Cromley, David Redmond; sisters: Ilene Witt of Port Clinton, Alma (James) Henley of Tallahassee, FL, Donna (Jim) Racey of Pottstown, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife: Paulette Slauterbeck, sister: Ethel Whitting, brothers: Rollan"Puss" Slauterbeck and Fritz Slauterbeck. Memorial services will be conducted 12:00 noon Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 until the time of the service. Tim Morelock will be officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
