Charles E. Quisno passed away May 19, 2011 at Firelands Medical Center. He was born on September 25, 1932, the son of Isabelle M. (Neilsen) and Clarence A. "Steam" Quisno, who preceded him in death along with brother Donald L. Quisno, sister-in-law Betty Quisno. He graduated from Port Clinton High School, served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1050 – 1054 as a Mine Assembler. In 1963 he started "Quisno's Sub House" at #9 Chittendon across from the OSU campus in Columbus and ran it for approximately 20 years before selling out. One of his former employees started the now "Quizno" sub franchize—Chuck's Legacy. Chuck was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2480, Eagles and was a certified Scuba Diver. He had a Yamaha motorcycle that he traveled all over in for years. He is survived by his sister, Carol Brown, nephew Gary (Becky) Quisno, niece Beth Ann (Jerry) Quisno-Biskey, nephew Robert E. (Anne) Brown, niece Cheryl L. Brown, great-nephew Adam Quisno, great-nieces Amanda Quisno and Annie Quisno. Cremation was handled by Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
