Charles DeGrisky, 94, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born near Rocky Ridge, Ohio on September 27, 1926, the son of the late Charles B. & Florence (Caris) DeGrisky. A graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School, Chuck served 2 years in the United States Navy during World War II and also served 3 years as a Master Sargent in the National Guard. He was a member of American Legion Post #114 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8732, both of Oak Harbor. Active in the Oak Harbor community, he operated Chuck’s Sunoco Service on West Water Street for many years. He was a member of the Oak Harbor Village Council for 17 years and was an active member of the Oak Harbor Rotary Club, the Marsh Club, and Elks Lodge #1718, Port Clinton. Chuck was also a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, where he served on the church council and was a communion distributor for many years. He enjoyed fishing and his annual trips to North Bay, Ontario and monthly poker club with his friends. On April 28, 1951, Chuck married the former Ardath Chapman of Port Clinton, and she survives. Also surviving are their children, Bonnie Solze, Oak Harbor; Charles E. (Barbara) DeGrisky, Perrysburg, Ohio; and John (Mary Beth) DeGrisky, Oak Harbor; son-in-law, Gene Jacobs, Oak Harbor; 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-Grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by their daughter, Mary Jacobs; son-in-law, Dale Solze, and sister, Donna Jean DeGrisky. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Saturday, February 13, 2020 at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust St., Oak Harbor, where private family services will be held on Sunday with the Rev. Scott Cunningham officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
