Charles "Chuck" Leroy Moore

Charles "Chuck" Leroy Moore, 91, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away on February 10, 2020 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 7, 1928 in Carroll Township in Ottawa County, OH to the late Herald G. and Olive D. (Kleinhans) Moore. Charles attended Oak Harbor High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 - 1953. He was stationed in Alabama and Maryland. He was deployed overseas for the last six months of his service and was honorably discharged in February 1953. While in the service he married Evalyn Gnepper on July 20, 1951. Charles was a carpenter for many years. His last occupation was as owner-operator of a semi truck, driving for South Shore Transportation. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also looked forward to deer hunting and fishing. He was active in the United Brethren Church throughout his lifetime. Charles is survived by his wife of 68 years, Evalyn of Oak Harbor; sons: Mark (Laurene) Moore, and their son Zach (Brooke) Moore, and their children Colton and Everleigh Moore all of Oak Harbor; Matt Moore of Oak Harbor, and Dan (Kelly) Moore, and their children: Brandon, Alex and Kyle Moore all of Wauseon, OH; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Archie, Howard, Ralph, Richard, and Earl; and sister Mary Henry. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust St., Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11am at Bethel Church, Elmore, OH with Pastor Tim Sherman officiating. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor with military honors. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Bethel Church or Heartland Hospice of Fremont, OH.
