Charles A. “Red” Bevier, 77, of Marblehead, OH died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. He was born April 4, 1929 in Toledo, a son of the late Charles H. and Mary (Rocco) Bevier. He married Patricia (Shinaver) on August 31, 1970, and she survives. Mr. Bevier was a car foreman and supervisor for the Norfolk & Western Railroad retiring in 1980. After retirement, he worked in maintenance for Bay Point, Marblehead, OH. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7572, Marblehead, and Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1610, Port Clinton, OH. He enjoyed woodworking, home repair, remodeling and gardening. Surviving are his wife: Pat, sons: Kirk (Geri) of Toledo, Robert Webb, over seas; daughter: Kathlyn Bedra of Toledo, Karen Hosley of Curtice, Kristy Okenka of Toledo, Dawn (John Paul) Dress of Marblehead,; 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Madeline Grindle of Ottawa Hills, Yvonne (Norm) Patterson of Oregon; brother-in-laws: Donald (Cheryl Minor) Shinaver of Toledo, Thomas (Sharon) Shinaver of Curtice, Frank (Barb) Shinaver of Maumee, Joe (Becky) Shinaver of Millbury, Ben Duckworth of Livonia, MI, Jim Steedman of Walbridge, OH; sister-in-laws: Ruth Harpel of Whittier, CA, Carolyn Mahr of Genoa, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Joseph Bevier, Edward Bevier; sisters: Charlotte Willard, Tina Steedman, sister-in-law Barbara Duckworth. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Sunday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH, where a parish wake service will be held Sunday evening at 8:30 P.M. Prayer services will begin Monday at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead. The Rev. James Brown will officiate, and interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with VFW Post 7572 and the United States Marine Corps providing military graveside rites.
