Charlene Ontko

Charlene (Waldecker) Ontko passed away with family by her side on March 19, 2016 after a short illness at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. She was born on January 19, 1953 of the late Norman and Renthilee (Oglesbee) Waldecker. Charlene was raised in Lakeside, Ohio and graduated from Lakeside High School in 1971. She married Dennis Ontko on July 14, 1973. Together they had two children, Jayna and Grant. Charlene enjoyed time with her family and friends and adored her grandchildren. She recently retired from KBI in Sandusky. She is survived by her husband, daughter, Jayna (James) Kliner of Ashburn, VA; son, Grant (Alison) Ontko of Gahanna, OH; sister Nancy (Bill) Kilhken of Marblehead, OH; brother Jay (Connie) Waldecker of Columbia, MO; grandchildren Keegan, Madison, Reagan and Owen Ontko and Ella and Grace Kliner; as well as her much-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Per her wishes, there will be no viewing. On Wednesday, March 23, 2016, family and friends will be greeted at 10:30 a.m. and a memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. Father James Brown will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her memory be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay St. Marblehead, OH 43440.
