Carolyn Sue Baldwin, 84 of Oak Harbor, OH, died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Elmwood of Fremont in Fremont, OH. She was born November 7, 1934 in Fremont, OH to the late Robert W. & Dorothy L. (Cramer) Aurand. She was a 1952 graduate of Port Clinton High School. On April 8, 1953 she married Donald J. Darr who preceded her in death on December 14, 1974. On June 3, 1978 she married David O. Baldwin and he survives. Carolyn started her career as a secretary for the Department of the Army at Erie Ordinance Depot in Port Clinton, OH for roughly 5 years. She then served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the State Department of Agriculture for about 5 years. She retired from the Federal Department of Agriculture in 1996 following nearly 39 years of service. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor where she was past president of the St. Boniface Home & School Association, as well as the Rosary Altar Society, and Choir. She also was a founding member of the Oak Harbor Skippers and National Association of Retired Federal Workers (NARF). Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Dave of Oak Harbor, OH; children: Pamela (Mike) Archer of Clyde, OH, R. Kevin (Marie) Darr of Oak Harbor, and Leann (Ted) Mason both of Clyde, OH; step-son Tim (Amy) Baldwin of Columbus, OH; sisters: Betty (David) Wistinghausen of Oak Harbor, OH and Cheryl Peterson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 7 grandchildren; 5 step- grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; 8 step- great- grandchildren; and 2 great- great- grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Laura Beth Baldwin, infant brother Robert Aurand, sister Cynthia Aurand, brother- in- law Greg Peterson, and grandson Greg Karshuk. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 PM at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor by the Rev. Timothy Ferris.. Interment will follow at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
