Carolyn Ann Helton, 66, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at her residence with her loving family by her side after a courageous 2 year and 8 month battle with breast cancer. She was born on April 24, 1950 in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of the late Howard and Margaret (Snyder) Thatcher. She graduated in 1968 from Buckeye Valley High School in Delaware, Ohio. On March 22, 1969 she married Danny Helton and he survives. Carolyn was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Port Clinton where her faith in God continued to reflect in her as she enjoyed helping her family and friends unconditionally. She was meticulous at home decorating and home projects. She enjoyed eating out, tending to her flower garden, fishing on Lake Erie, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her loving husband, Danny; sons, Andrew (Elly) Helton, Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania and Chris (Marcey) Helton, Port Clinton; grandchildren, Will and Grace Helton, Kirsten Leigh, Dallas, Alexis, and Austin Helton; brother, Howard (Cindy) Thatcher, Jr., Ashley, Ohio; nieces, Shawn Beuerlein, Shannon Curts, and Laura Leach; nephew, Ric Thatcher; sister-in-law, Bonnie Crabtree, Delaware, Ohio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Marsha Helton, Marion, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Ashley United Methodist Church, 214 E. High Street, Ashley, Ohio, from 10 am until Funeral Services at 11 am, with Reverend Janet Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Ashley Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene, 410 Monroe Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452 or to Magruder Hospital Oncology Department, 615 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452.
