Carole A. Nissen

Carole A. Nissen, 77, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Thursday,

November 17, 2022 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, OH.

She was born December 18, 1944 in Port Clinton the daughter of C.B. and Harriet (Smart) Mills. She was a graduate of Danbury class of ‘63 and also completed her business degree at Stautzenberger College in ‘65. She married David Nissen on November 18, 1967. Carole was the secretary for the Port Clinton Jr. High School for 30+ years retiring in 2007. She was someone who always had a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen whenever you needed it. She treated everyone she met with care and respect. The community of Port Clinton was where she felt at home. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed shelling on South Hutchinson Island, FL and East Harbor State Park here in Ohio. Her families’ favorite memories were enjoying her homemade apple pie and photo albums she made with love.

Surviving are husband: David; son: Steve (Rebecca) Nissen of Dublin, OH; daughter: Sara (Robert Dockstader) Stahl of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Mitchell Raterman, Mason Raterman, Josie Raterman, Ava Nissen, Ana (Curtis) Kouts, Drake Stahl, Drew Stahl; great-grandchildren: Grayson Kouts and Evie Kouts. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Edith Buck, Kay Stucky, Betty Ray, Jim Mills and Bob Mills.

A Celebration of Carole’s Life will be held Thursday Dec. 1, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm with a eulogy given at 5:00 pm at Port Clinton Yacht Club, 127 Brooklyn Ave. Port Clinton, OH 43452. Memorial contributions may be given to United Way of Ottawa County, 1854 E. Perry St. #300, Port Clinton, OH 43452 or Salvation Army, Port Clinton Service Unit,1834 E.
