Carol L. Laubacher

Carol L. Laubacher, 80 of Oak Harbor, OH died Monday, July 02, 2012 at Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, OH. He was born December 23, 1931 in Oak Harbor to the late Christopher and Luella (Genzman) Laubacher. He was a 1949 graduate of Elmore High School and completed his Automotive Mechanic Schooling while serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. On July 11, 1952 he married the former Joyce Grau and she survives. He retired from Sun Oil Company, Toledo, OH as a Stationary Engineer. Mr. Laubacher spent many years as a Leader for the Cub Scout Pack 308 and Boy Scout Troop 363, served as Scoutmaster for Riverview Schools, and coached youth baseball in Oak Harbor. Carol loved working with wood and enjoyed babysitting. Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years Joyce of Oak Harbor; sons: Randal (Laura) Laubacher and Ronald (Sandra) Laubacher both of Oak Harbor; brother Christopher Laubacher Jr. of Port Clinton, OH; sister Faye (Joe) Lochotzki of Oak Harbor; grandchildren: Jeremy (Laura) Laubacher, Stacy (Brad) Schlagheck, and Jason Laubacher; and great- grandchildren Addison and Kaylee Laubacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Oliver and infant brother Roger Laubacher; sisters: Rhea Harder, Mary Krieger, and Delores Behlmer. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Friday, July 6, 2012 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
