Carol J. Gibson

Carol Joyce Gibson, 74, of Marblehead, OH and Sabastian, FL passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Countryside Manor Care, Fremont, OH. She was born July 24, 1950 in Akron, OH the daughter of John William and Helen (Frejes) Nutter. She married Larry A. Gibson on April 13, 1989 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2024. Carol graduated from Garfield High School and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Kent State University. She also has a two-year degree from the National Institute of Technology as an Electronics Technician. She spent six months abroad in Spangdahlem Germany and one year in California.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Business and Professional Women’s Association. Carol and Larry spent half of each year in Sabastian, FL and the other half of each year in Marblehead, OH. They moved back to Marblehead, OH permanently in November of 2023.

Surviving are her brothers: John W. (Paula) Nutter of Akron, OH, Robert M. Nutter of Akron, Ohio; sisters: Pat L. (John) Stover of Albuquerque, NM , Susie E. (Tony) Boom of Scottsdale, AZ; step-sons: Larry Brian Gibson of Belleview, FL, Brad Arthur Gibson of Winter Haven, FL; step-grandchildren: Callie Lefis and Lily Gibson Hawbaker; sisters-in-law: Sharon Allen of Marion, OH, Janet (Jack) Walker of Mt. Gilead, OH and Janice (Roger) Smith of Huron, OH. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, especially Kristen Lampgman and Joseph Rice, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Larry; parents; step-grandchild: Brianna Gibson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd.
