Carol Ann Orman, 82 of Oak Harbor, OH died Monday, September 12, 2022 at her home. She was born September 1, 1940 at Fremont Memorial Hospital, the daughter of the late Andrew and Ann (Demeter) Domokos. She married James L. Orman on September 12, 1959 and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2018.
Carol was a graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School, class of 1959. After her marriage, she & Jim moved to Toledo. She was employed at Toledo Hospital for 6 years, at Ace Hardware Distribution Center as a Customer Service rep for 25 years, 9 months, retiring in 2002 after a fall at home.
She was a former member of Reformation Lutheran Church and assistant to the Junior Choir. In 1975, they moved to Perrysburg where she was active in Welcome Wagon, former member of Zoar Lutheran Church, Senior Choir, Martha Circle, and President of Altar Guild. In 1988, they built their home in Oak harbor. Carol was a former member of the Port Clinton Mothers of Twins Club and the Toledo Mothers of Twins Club holding office in both clubs and on the board of the National Association of Mothers of Twins Club as the National Ways & Means Chairperson.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak harbor, former member of the Senior Choir, Rachel Circle, Treasurer of the Women of the Church, Altar Guild and holding office in and on the board of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. A member of the Mission & Ministry Team, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, helping Sarah at the BCS Food Pantry, money counter, co-captain with Jim, Team #1 for CD deliveries to shut-ins. In all clubs, groups and at work, if there was a fundraiser, Carol was your #1 person to have on board, raising thousands of dollars. Receiving a trophy from Children’s Miracle Network, while working at Ace, for the money raised from all the events that she was in charge of for years. Carol loved to cook, read and work with her flowers and travel with the Oak Harbor Group. She was very proud of her full Hungarian heritage.
Survivors include her children: Victoria “Vicki” (Tom) Leaser of Oak Harbor, Valarie “Val” (Charlie) Ewing of East Palestine, OH, James “Jimmy” (Lisa) Orman of Woodville, OH; grandchildren: Emily (Jason) Cicconi, Torri Robbins, Andrew “Andy” Orman, and Jonathan “Jon” (Karen) Orman. She was preceded in death by her brother Allen “Sonny” Domokos and sister Brenda Arebaugh.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Friday, September 16, 2022 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor with Rev. Becky Bolander officiating. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial Contributions may be given to St. John’s Organ Restoration Fund or Altar Guild, Mid-County E.M.S., Wounded Warriors Project, or a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
