Carl Sorgen

Carl H. Sorgen, Jr, 87, of Cape Coral, FL and Port Clinton, Ohio died December 22, 2013 in Florida. He was born Nov. 8, 1926 in Highland Park, MI the son of Carl H. and Edyth (Gammon) Sorgen, Sr. He married Betty J. Neubauer on Jan. 15, 1947 and she preceded him in death on Mar. 27, 1990. He later married Lois Norris on April 2, 2005 and she survives. Mr. Sorgen operated Sorgen Fruit Farm on Catawba Island and he was also a brick layer. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the 82nd Airborne during World War II. He was a member of the Cape Coral Moose Lodge, Fremont Elks and a Life member of the Fremont American Legion. Surviving are his wife: Lois; son: Carl H. "Skip" (Susan) Sorgen III of Port Clinton; daughters: Cheryl (Jim) Little of Augusta, GA, Pamela (Scott) Goseline of Deluth, GA, Wendy (David Beggs) Abrahamson of Port Clinton; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Betty, one grandson: Jason Little and sister: Edyth Leet. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, Ohio where visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
