Carl G. Montowski

Carl G. Montowski, 74, of Catawba Island died June 28, 2008 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 10, 1933 the son of the late George and Wanda Montowski. He moved to Catawba Island in 1968. Since 2002, he and his wife Lawrene have spent their winters in Sebastian, FL. Carl served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was the owner/operator of Parcels Post Mobile Park and Marina and Rent-A-Car on Catawba Island. He is a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a past member of the Catawba Island Club, Port Clinton Yacht Club and Catawba Island Kiwanis Club. Carl is survived by his wife Lawrene (Cooper) of 47 years; sons: Greggory (Renee) of West Bloomfield, MI and Matthew (Anne) of Port Clinton, Ohio.; cherished grandchildren Joseph and Nicholas Harvey, Sarah and Greggory Montowski and Arielle Montowski; sister Gloria (Bill) Bentley of Vero Beach, FL; niece Michelle (Scott) Funnell of Sebastian, FL and nephew Brian (Karin) Bentley of Orlando, FL; great nephews: Kirk, Kyle and Kaden Funnell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John Missler at 12:00 Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Additional visitation will be held Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:30 am. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery.
