Carl F. Konieczny, 75, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. He was born in Oak Harbor on October 1, 1938, a son of Joseph & Anna (Gajewski) Konieczny. Carl loved to cook and was the owner and operator of Kozy Korners Restaurant in Oak Harbor for 39 years. He also farmed and owned several race horses. A member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, Carl was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Marsh Club. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the "Farmer's Table" at Kozy Korners, playing cards at Marsh Club and 2 other card clubs, and visiting the casinos. Carl loved spending time with his grandchildren. On October 12, 1963, he married the former Sandra Deal, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, John (Kathy) Konieczny, Oak Harbor, Patti (D.J.) Greenhill, Elmore, Ohio, and Annette (Adam) Walls, Chestertown, Maryland; brother, Donald Konieczny, Oak Harbor; and grandchildren, Julia, Mark, and Faith Konieczny; Jacob, Samantha, and Daniel Greenhill; and Nathan and Natalie Walls. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin Konieczny and William Konieczny; and sisters, JoAnn Hablitzel, Virginia Crimm, and Wanda Holewinski. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Timothy F. Ferris at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor. Interment will follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
