Calvin R. Miller

Calvin R. Miller, 80, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Saturday at Riverview Health Care Campus, Cottage Cove, Oak Harbor. He was born in Oak Harbor on November 3, 1925, a son of the late Edward & Augusta (Schutte) Miller. Mr. Miller was a farmer, and was an employee of the Ottawa County Engineer’s Office. He retired in 1987 from Con-Agra Eckrich. A member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, Mr. Miller was active in the Men’s Brotherhood, the church dartball and softball teams, and was a former member of the Church Council and the Senior Choir. He also was a 4-H advisor and was a member of the Branch County (Michigan) Snowmobile Club. Mr. Miller enjoyed golf and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He marred the former Kathleen Taten on June 30, 1946, and she survives. Also surviving are his sons, Phil (Becky) Miller, Toledo, OH, Bruce (Kim) Miller, Union City, MI; daughter, Ann (Dennis) Lochotzki, Oak Harbor; sister-in-law, Marian Miller, Bowling Green, OH; grandchildren, Lisa Shinko, Matt Lochotzki, Amy Corser, Justin Miller, Beth Miller, Derrick Miller, Kyle Miller, and Taylor Miller; great-grandchildren, Andrew & Sarah Corser, Tyler Miller, and Ryan and Kyle Shinko. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Donald and Lloyd Miller. The family will receive friends from 2-9 P.M. Tuesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, with the Rev. David A. Voll officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
