Bryan Sharples, 85 of Oak Harbor, OH died Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born September 7, 1932 in Blackburn, England to the late James and Gertrude (Sumpton) Sharples. He was educated in England and served in the British Army. On December 20, 1958 he married the former Sarah McKinnell who preceded him in death October 1, 2011. Bryan was a journeyman machinist for Yates & Thomas in England, before coming to the United States and retiring as a Quality Control Manager for Teledyne in Toledo, OH in 1997 where he inspected Jet Engines and Missile Parts. He was a member of the Port Clinton Elks Lodge. Bryan had a passion for music and playing music himself, especially the keyboard. Survivors include his children: Antony Sharples, Mark (Lesley) Sharples, and Wendy Sharples all of Oak Harbor; 6 grandchildren, and 13 great- grandchildren; niece Paula Fox- Ferguson and nephew Hank Fox. His wishes are to be cremated and his ashes taken back to England for burial. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute may do so to the SPCA of Fremont, or a charity of the Donors Choice.
