Bonnie J. Crosby, 80 a life long resident of Carroll Township, OH died Sunday, August 29, 2021 at her home under Hospice Care. She was born October 15, 1940 in Carroll Township to the late Henry and Ivah (Jeremy) Biggert. She was a 1959 graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School. On July 18, 1959 she married James E. Crosby Jr. and he survives. Bonnie worked 31 years for H.B. Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, retiring in 2005. She held leadership positions in the Toussaint Founders Club, served on the Ottawa County Sr. Fair board. Bonnie was a charter member of Carroll Township Fire & E.M.S and became an EMT. She was a strong, fun- loving woman who could accomplish almost anything. Bonnie loved her infrequent “Hobby Lobby” (casino) trips, but her real passion was spending time with family and friends. She embraced the Christmas holiday season. Giving gifts that would often include a “lump of coal” as appropriate. Her family was keenly aware of her fondness for Mickey Mouse and watching all the birds that would visit. She also enjoyed attending monthly luncheons with both her fellow retirees and high school friends. Family heritage was very important to Bonnie, she proudly researched her family’s genealogy to include connections to her Native American lineage and Pioneer families of Ottawa County. Bonnie was always a caring and compassionate person, following a disabling stroke to her husband, she became his primary caregiver for over 39 years. Survivors include her husband of 62 years,James of Oak Harbor; son James “Bud” (Mary) Crosby of Sylvania Twp., OH; and daughters: Sue (Hank) Perrin of Oak Harbor and Luann (Billy) Vidal of Oak Harbor; grandchildren: Jacob Bebow, Henry Perrin, Savannah Vidal, Danny Vidal, and Sammy Vidal. Bonnie was the youngest of eight siblings. Her brother Clifford Biggert survives. She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert & Charles Biggert, Harvey Cover; sisters Beulah Boss/Huskey, Gladys Wadsworth and Geraldine Schlessner. Services will be held privately with burial to be in Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Township. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
