Bonita Lynn "Bonnie" Hickman

Bonita Lynn “Bonnie” (Rakes) Hickman, 70, of Oak Harbor and formerly of Fremont and Port Clinton, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 22, 1951 in Fremont, OH the daughter of Virgil “Torch” and JoAnne (Watts) Rakes. Bonnie was a Phlebotomist at Magruder Hospital and then a Medical Assistant for Dr. Steele and then Dr. Jackson and CNP Stephanie Gonya. She was previously an EMT for Lakeside Vol. Fire Department. She loved spending time with her grandkids and family. She enjoyed camping, watching sprint cars and racing. She was a member of the Eagles. Surviving are her sons: Anthony (Kim) Matthews of Hilliard, OH, Brent (Tami) Matthews of Oak Harbor; grandchildren: Natasha, Kylie, Robert, Trey, Linsey, Morgan, Hannah; great-grandchildren: Peyton, Ryder, Emma; sister: Barbara “Bobbie” (James Pautler) Rakes of Seattle, WA; brother: Robert (Susan) Rakes of Port Clinton; sister-in-law: Deborah Rakes of Fremont, OH; many nieces, nephews and cousins; cat: Tiny. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Timothy Rakes, William Rakes; grandmother: Virginia Rakes and dog: Elke. Memorial services will be conducted 5:30 pm Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until the time of the service.
