Billy Ray Harvey, 70 of Oak Harbor, OH died Thursday, September 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Coeburn, VA to the late Dewey and Mary (Murphy) Harvey. He was a 1966 graduate of Danbury High School, Lakeside- Marblehead, OH. On June 24, 1972 he married the former Velma Kleinhans and she survives. He served in the United States Army from 1968-1970. Billy was a belt splicer and maintenance mechanic for Uniroyal in Port Clinton for 32 years and retired in 2013 from Graham Packaging in Fremont, OH. His interests included working on cars, woodworking, and being with family. Survivors include his wife Velma of Oak Harbor; son Brad (Sarah) Harvey and grandchildren Zach, Jacob, and Allie of Mt. Zion, IL; sister Betty (Rick) Eaton of Port Clinton, OH; niece Cynthia (Paul) Carr and great nephew Andrew Carr of Powell, OH. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Tuesday at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Graveside Services will begin at 11am Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Township, where Military Honors will be given by local V.F.W Post 8732 and American Legion Post 114, Oak Harbor.
