July 26, 1939 — September 1, 2021

Beverly “Bevie” Irene Bierschwal (Leady), 82 of Millbury, Ohio died Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio following a brief illness. She was born July 26, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Irma Finnegan (Jensen) and John Leady. Bevie worked at Smith’s Cafeteria in downtown Toledo from 1957 to 1968. Beverly met her husband, Donald Bierschwal, while working together at a small family restaurant affectionately known as “The Chicken Coop,” after which they began their life together. On November 25, 1981 she married her “honey” Don, and the two spent many loving years together. Beverly was a fierce lover of animals, having many cherished pets throughout her lifetime. Her two feline children and companions, Fluffy & Katie, survive her. Beverly was beloved by her family and friends, and will always fondly be remembered to say the first thing that came to her mind, no matter the timing, company, or occasion. She was a loving, caring, and devoted daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend to all who knew her. Beverly is preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Donald, as well as her mother Irma, and her father, John. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Donald (Jennifer) Finnegan, her aunt & uncle Eileen & Bob Brossia, her aunt Rosie Jensen, and many cousins, as well as caring friends, neighbors, and members of Beverly’s extended family. A gracious thank you goes out to Beverly’s cousins, Linda Hetrick, Diane Weaver, and Carol Coe who supported and helped Bevie following her husband’s passing, as well as special friend, Bob Perry, who spent countless hours with her in her final days. Graveside services will begin at 11am on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Salem Twp. Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, Ohio under the direction of the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Beverly’s family and friends would like to thank the kind and supportive nurses and staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate care of Bevie during her illness and in her final days.
