Beverly B. Pitts

Beverly B. Pitts, 84, of Otterbein Retirement Community, died Monday at St. Vincent's Hospital after a brief illness. She was born June 13, 1925, in Newton, Iowa, and grew up in New York and Pennsylvania. She attended Stephens College and Hiram College, earning a degree in social work. She had lifelong interests in poetry, cooking, raising dachshunds, and working with children. She volunteered as Miss Betsy, the Storybook Lady, in daycare settings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris W. Pitts, and daughters, Susan and Margaret. She is survived by her son, David, of Port Clinton, sister, Margaret Meckley, of York, Pennsylvania, and numerous nieces and nephews. Per the family's request, there will be no visitation or services.
