Betty M. Atkinson, 92, of Port Clinton, OH, loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, peacefully passed Friday, August 19, 2022 at Providence Care Center, Sandusky, OH. She was born December 11, 1929 in Bellevue, OH the daughter of Carl and Juanita (Baker) Von Der Weis. She married George Atkinson on June 25, 1949 and he survives. Betty worked at E.A.D. and was a switchboard operator at Celotex. But her most important role in life was raising her Sons. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton, OH. In 1964 and 1965 She took courses at the Mary Manse College, Toledo, OH in History, Sociology, Psychology, Theology, Fine Arts, Education, Music, Speech and Mathematics. Surviving are her husband: George; son: Richard V. (Katherine) Atkinson-Miller of Newark; grandchildren: Michael Joseph Miller of Belleville, MI, Tony Lee Miller of Newark, Tonya Lynn Miller-Lock of Newark, Shawna Maria (Ron) Lovell of Newark; great-grandchildren: Brian Miller, Keegan Miller, Darian (Jared) Ritzius, Deyrek Lock, Brendon Lovell, Tonya (Erick) Logan, Alicia Miller; great-grandchildren: Natalie, Avery, Maverick, Liam and Kade, Cat: Bootsy. She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Joseph M. Atkinson-Miller and brother: Joseph Von Der Weis, Cat: Benji Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Father Jonathon Wight will be officiating.
