Betty L. Mills

Betty L. Mills, 80, of Port Clinton, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Promedica Memorial Hospital, Fremont, OH. She was born April 21, 1936 in Port Clinton, the daughter of Lawrence H. "Shorty" and Verna (Basinger) Kramer. She married James G. Mills on Nov. 2, 1957 and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2004. Mrs. Mills was a charter member of Erie Shores Assembly of God, Port Clinton, OH. She was very active in the church including teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was very active in the Port Clinton Community. She started and ran a Youth Center in Port Clinton and volunteered for the City by planting and maintaining all of the flowers in town. She was named Citizen of the Year in 2000. Along with many other jobs she was a realtor. Surviving are her son: Jim (Carol) Mills of Wooster, daughters: Mary Poupard of Port Clinton, Jane Stark of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Hope (Jerry) Sheppard, Josh (Lisa) Kline, Ashley (Jameson) App, Allison Miller, Adam (Angela) Herrera, Monica Herrera, Andy (Danielle) Herrera, Jennifer Mills, James Mills, Jamie Dole, Michael Stark, Benjamin Stark, Emma Stark; great-grandchildren: Lilly Kline, Mason Kline, Ava Herrera, Abby Herrera and Ayden Herrera. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son: Michael Mills; daughter: Linda Herrera; sister: Alice Robertson. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, March 27, 2017 at Erie Shores Assembly of God, 220 S. Gill Rd. Port Clinton, OH. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Erie Shores Assembly of God or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
