Betty L. Kozlok

Betty L. Kozlok, 86, of Port Clinton, died Wednesday evening at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton. She was born August 22, 1921 in Amsterdam, Ohio, the daughter of Albin and Jessie (Brown) Truex. Betty was employed at the Standard Products Company during the war while raising their new daughter alone as her husband was off fighting in WWII. She later retired in 1980 from the former Perry Pharmacy. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the Sunrise Garden Club and a member of the Women of the Moose. Surviving are her husband Emil whom she married on June 21, 1942; daughter Sandra (Otto) Geggus of Perrysburg and two grandsons Eric (Carrie) Geggus of Maumee and Kurt Geggus of Seattle; a great grandson Liam Geggus; sister in law Phyllis Sampson of Port Clinton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Margaret Kozlok, Pauline Below, Lucille Newell, Ralph, Glenn, Meryl, Donald and Lawrence Truex. The family extends their gratitude to the devoted family, friends and neighbors; the staff at Magruder Hospital, the staff of Edgewood Manor Nursing Center and the staff of the Heartland Hospice. Visitation will be held from 10 am Monday until the time of services at 12 noon at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. The Rev. Bruce Batchelor-Glader will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Heartland Hospice or the Edgewood Manor Residents Fund.
