Betty L. Harris

Betty L. Harris, 79, of Port Clinton, OH, died Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton. She was born Feb. 2, 1927 in Portsmouth, OH, a daughter of the late Mallieu and Bertha Morris. She married Carson Harris in 1967 and he preceded her in death in 1978. Mrs. Harris worked in the kitchen for the L & K Restaurant and The Island House, both in Port Clinton. Surviving are her sons, Ralph (Glenda) Harris of Port Clinton, Jerry (Denise) Harris of Port Clinton, Robert (Kathy) Harris of Port Clinton, Tom (Joan) Large of Port Clinton, Ray Large of Florida, Mike Tiller of Virginia; daughters, Shirley (Fran) Murphy of Florida, Thelma (Ronnie) Webb of Port Clinton, Peggy Howard of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence Morris of Greenfield, OH; sisters, Stella McWhorter of Waverly, OH, Helen Green of Backrun, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Clyde and Chester Morris; sisters, Edna Mae Tacket and Hazel Eckstrom. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 until the time of the service on Wednesday. Rev. Rusty Yost will officiate, and interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Research Fund.
