Betty L. Halstead

Betty L. Halstead, 78, of Catawba Island died Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at her residence. She was born January 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late Roy and Una (McDaniel) Whitlock. She married John Halstead on February 15, 1946 and he survives. Mrs. Halstead was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, Catawba Island Vol. Fire Dept Auxiliary, and Catawba Island Child Conservation League. She enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques and enjoyed wildlife. Surviving are her husband: John; sons: Stan of Catawba Island, Sam (Cathy) of Catawba Island, Mike of Hawaii; daughter: Sandra (Carl) Taylor of Oak Harbor; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; brothers: Roy (Wilma) “Jimmy” Whitlock of Oak Harbor, Ray (Barbara) Whitlock of Lakeside, CA; sisters: Kay (Harold) Pile of Zepher Hills, FL, Marcia (Dennis) Bilitski-Nickelson of Beloit, WS. She was preceded in death by her parents, son: John Mark Halstead and sister: Mary Rabuck. There will be no services.
