Betty Jean (Casey) Kindt, 88, of Genoa, died Wednesday December 10, 2008 at St. Charles Mercy Medical Center in Oregon. She was born April 2, 1920 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Fordie and Opal (Fuhr) Casey. On August 7, 1957 she married Charles William Kindt and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1996. Betty was employed at the Erie Army Depot for 10 years. She loved to bowl and was a member of the Bowler's Women's Association. She was a charter member of the Fremont Women of the Moose and the Elk's Ladies Association. Betty was an avid flea marketer and garage saler and would start in Fremont and make her way to the Skyway. Surviving are her daughters Sandra Kreager and Bernice (Bob) Stull, both of Fremont; grandchildren Bonnie (Ron) Showman, Vickie Adams, Mark Stull and Lorie (Mike) Goehring; Great Grandchildren Jennifer (Dan) Legron, Jill (Wes) Reed, Amanda Showman, Heather (Jason) Tingley, Deena Strausbaugh, Don Adams, Dustin Steele, Darryn Adams, Bradley Stull, Miranda Stull, Jade Goehring and Casey Goehring and five great-great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson Rick Strausbaugh, brother Milan and a sister in infancy. Visitation will be held from 10 12 noon Saturday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton. Graveside services will be 3:15 pm Saturday at Mapleleaf Cemetery, Put-in-Bay. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Cystic Fibrosis Association.
