Betty J. Twarek, 83, of Marblehead, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Center in Lakeside, Ohio. She was born on July 10, 1934 in Morehead, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Chester and Bertha (Hall) McKinney. On September 11, 1954 she married Lawrence J. Twarek and he survives. Betty worked on the assembly line at the former Philco Radio Company in Sandusky until the company moved to Philadelphia in 1961. She then held various waitress jobs locally at the Peninsula Restaurant and Captain Jacks. She was a member of VFW Post 7572 Ladies Auxiliary in Marblehead. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, as she was very active in going to their sporting events at school as well as taking them on trips. Survivors include her husband, Larry; sons, Michael (Cathie) Twarek, Mark (Collette) Twarek, and Gary Twarek; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeremy) Kline, Brian Twarek, Lindsay (Brad) Reese, Seth (Sara) Twarek, Kaylie Twarek, Jordan Twarek, Danielle (Ryan) Baker, Jacob Twarek, Megan Twarek, Adam Twarek, Katie Twarek, Kimberly Zura, Russell (Jody) Zura, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Harold, Oshel Glen, Joyce, Foley, and Joe. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 2-8 pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10 am with Father James Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Marblehead.
