Betty J. Millinger

Betty J. Millinger, 86, of Graytown, Ohio, died at the Parkcliffe Community, Northwood, Ohio, after a extended battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born near Martin, Ohio on August 25, 1923, a daughter of Frederick & Edna (Wittman) Reif. On July 18, 1941, she married Willard R. Millinger, and he preceded her in death on July 20, 2001. They worked together on their family farm near Graytown for most of their married life, and enjoyed spending winters at their home in Ruskin, Florida for over 20 years. Betty also was a caregiver and housekeeper for several Toledo families and had worked at the former Erie Ordinance Depot during World War II. She was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Martin, where she taught Sunday School. An avid bowler, Betty was a member of the Tuesday Morning Coffee League, and the Ma & Pa League. She enjoyed gardening and sewing and was well known for her cooking abilities. Most especially though, Betty was a loving wife and mother, and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Robert (Janet) Millinger, Shelia (Joseph) Rollheiser, and Cindy (James) Rollheiser, all of Graytown, brother, Roger Reif, Graytown; and grandchildren, Wendy, Cheryl, Jackie, Kimberly, Jamey, and David. Also surviving are 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ronald Millinger; granddaughter, Rebecca; brothers, Ralph Reif and Frederick "Joker" Reif; and sisters, Margaret Lacer and Phyllis Kontak. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Sunday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter Lutheran Church (Blackberry), Martin, Ohio, with the Rev. Monty Kauffman officiating. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Betty's family would like to express their sincere thanks for the kindness and care their mother received from the staffs of Parkcliffe Community and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
