Betty E. Kurtz

Betty E. Kurtz, 78, of Marblehead, died Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky following a lingering illness. She was born March 1, 1927 in Mansfield, OH the daughter of the late Grover and Laura Lockhart. She was a graduate of Mansfield Madison High School. She married Charles O. Kurtz on April 27, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She moved to Marblehead in 1974. She was a member of Marblehead VFW Post 7572 Ladies Aux. Surviving are her son: John (Nancy) Kurtz of Mansfield; daughter: Lori (Mark) Mizla of Marblehead; grandchildren: Andy (Heather) Kurtz, Amy (Bill) Nagel both of Mansfield, Dustin Chura of Westerville, Michael Chura of Marblehead; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a brother-in-law Jerry Kurtz of Tampa, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters: Clara Distl, Mary Hilgeman, Willard Lockhart, Kenneth Lockhart, Jean Lockhart and sister-in-law Alice Hager. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside—Marblehead, OH where the family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 9:00 pm. VFW Ladies Aux. prayer services will be held Friday evening at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township.
