Betty Bergman Lohrbach, 87, of Genoa, and formerly of Elmore, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, July 6, 2011 at Genoa Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born in rural Woodville, Ohio on August 16, 1923 to Louis Edward & Clara (Streiffert) Magsig. She was a 1941 graduate of the former Woodville High School. On November 28, 1943 she married Elmer Bergman. He preceded her in death on September 17, 1964. On May 19, 1967, she married Rudolph Lohrbach and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2002. Betty's former employers included AAA of Fremont, Aid Association for Lutherans branch office in Elmore, and Sky Bank of Bowling Green. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Betty enjoyed travel, playing cards, and her family. She was also a volunteer in the mailroom at St. Charles Hospital for 30 years. She is survived by her children Michael (Phyllis) Bergman, Clarkston, MI; John (Julie) Bergman, Elmore, and Connie (Michael) DeStazio, Elmore; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Step-children include Carol Lohrbach, The Philippines, Loren (Sally) Lohrbach, Gulfport, MS, and Anita (Larry) Dubois, Columbia, SC; 9 step-grandchildren and 19 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Donald Magsig and sister Lyla Sutton. Friends and family may visit from 2-8 P.M. Saturday at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 West State Route 51. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore with visitation 30 minutes prior. Interment will follow at Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorials contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Preschool or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Genoa Care Center for the care they gave her for the past 9 years.
