Betty B. Kratzer

Betty Belle Kratzer;, 87, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, Ohio. She was born on October 8, 1925, the daughter of Carl F. and Cora B. (Lattimore) Scheuerman. Betty was a graduate of Oak Harbor High School and the Flower Hospital School of Nursing, where she received her registered nursing degree in 1946. She worked at Flower Hospital in Toledo, the Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Fremont Memorial Hospital, Fremont, Ohio, and retired from the Clyde, Ohio plant of the Whirlpool Corporation in 1981. Betty was a member of the auxiliary of American Legion Post #114 in Oak Harbor. She married Richard L. Kratzer on January 12, 1947, and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1997. Betty is survived by her sons, John (Joann) Kratzer, Oak Harbor, and Robert Kratzer, of Michigan; grandchildren, Nicole (Nathan) Tabbert, Jessica Kratzer, Michael (Lori) Kratzer, and Donna (Dean Veverka) McClanahan. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, June Lois Scheuerman. Friends may call from 12 Noon to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
