Bernard C. Huebner, 92, of Port Clinton, passed away quietly on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, OH. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 30, 1921, to Rudolph and Lillie Huebner. He was a graduate of Scott High School and attended the University of Toledo before serving in the Air Force during World War II from 1942 1945 and the Korean War for two years. After serving his country he worked at Huebner Automotive, Toledo, Ohio, a family business and later moved to Port Clinton to work at Smith Automotive on Fulton Street. While in Toledo, he had established an auxiliary branch of the Ohio Highway Patrol and was an officer until he moved to Port Clinton with his family. Survivors include: wife, Jean of 68 years; son: Thomas E. (Judy) Huebner of Georgia; daughter: Jan ice J. (John) Meachen of Wisconsin; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister: Virginia Rothlisberger of Pennsylvania; brother: Quinton (Marilyn) Huebner of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his sister: Romaine Smith and brother: John Huebner. Private burial services were held at Catawba Island Cemetery, Catawba Island, OH. Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home and Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.
