Benny Chester Morse

Benny Chester Morse, 79 of Oak Harbor, OH died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont, OH. He was born July 26, 1933 in Toledo, OH to the late Chester and Rose (Lipka) Morse. He was a 1947 graduate of Libby High School, earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Toledo and his Master's Degree from Bowling Green State University. On March 7, 1953 he married the former Edna Marie Snyder and she survives. Mr. Morse retired as a school teacher in 1988 from the Benton- Carroll- School System, where he taught 30 years at the Junior High School. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, the Fremont Moose and Eagles, and also the Lutheran Brotherhood #8950. Benny enjoyed teaching Sunday School and being a Boy Scout Leader. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Edna of Oak Harbor, sons: Alan Morse of Oak Harbor, Robert (Merry) Morse of Rocky Ridge, OH, Charlie (Laurie) Morse of Oak Harbor, and Mike (Mary) Morse of Marblehead, OH; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, children Gus Morse and Susan Liske, grandson Derek Griffin, and brothers Mike and Phillip Morse. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8pm with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Debra L. Domeier officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
