Barbara L. Smego

Barbara L. Smego, 78, of Marblehead, OH and formerly of Elyria, OH died Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. She was born September 6, 1938 in Cleveland, the daughter of Frank and Vilcia (Kingzett) Reynolds. Barb worked at Elyria Memorial Hospital for many years. She married Gary Smego, Sr. on July 4, 1992 and he survives. Barb was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and boating, especially to the Islands. Her greatest love was her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her many "Girls Weekends" with her daughters. Surviving are her husband: Gary; daughters: Linda Menner of Lakewood, Michele Nielsen, Charlene (Rod) Eye of Elyria, Gayle (Nick) Lungociu of Columbus; step-son: Gary Smego, Jr. of Aliquippa, PA; step-daughter: Megan Balawejder of Cranberry Township, PA; grandchildren: Meghan, Aaron, Erik, Danielle, Chad, Alyssa, Gary III, Alexis, Benjamin; great-grandchildren: Sydney, Kanyon, Cadence, Nastya, Fima, and Alex. She was preceded in death by husband: Tom Willis and brother: Richard Reynolds. Visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. Memorial services will be conducted 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Kyle Timmons Officiating.
