Barbara L. Hauser

Barbara L. Hauser, 74, of Sandusky and formerly of Denver, Colorado, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 on the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary at the Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. She was born August 17, 1932 in Port Clinton, the daughter of Frederick & Catherine (Foley) Hauser. Barbara spent twenty years as a Dominican Sister in the field of education, serving many parishes in the west. She spent her remaining teaching years as a middle school teacher of language arts. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling in several European countries, Canada, Mexico and China. Her most enjoyable years though, were spent in the classrooms teaching the children. She loved the outdoors especially walking and snow skiing. Surviving is her brother, James (Suzanne) Hauser of Port Clinton; Nieces, Jeanne Hitchings, Margie Hauser, Theresa Hauser, Karen Sue Hauser and Paula Connor; and Nephews, John, Michael, Eric and Robert J. Hauser. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert F. Hauser and sisters, Mary Ellen Hauser and Regina Rontty. The family will received friends from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Port Clinton. The Rev. John C. Missler will officiate. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church or Stein Hospice.
