Barbara J. Shiko, R.N. Barbara J. "Barb" Shiko, 81, of Catawba Island passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her side on Thursday, August 30, 2018. Barb was born on March 26, 1937 in Atlas, PA the daughter of Henry Budock and Bertha (Schultz) Budock. She married John Shiko on November 9, 1957 and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2007. Barb graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and from Reading School of Nursing in Reading, PA. She devoted 52 years to the care of her patients; her passion in life. Those left to cherish her memory are Daughter: Sandy Fleenor of Catawba Island; son: Bob Shiko of Catawba Island; son: Jack Shiko of Sandusky; beloved grandsons Cody (Shealynn Robertson) Fleenor of Oak Harbor, Bobby Fleenor of Georgia and two great-granddaughters: Kylynn and Penelope Fleenor both of Oak Harbor, Ohio. Private funeral services will be conducted at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service with interment in Catawba Island Cemetery.
