Barbara A. (Kroos) Pasty

Barbara Ann Pasty (nee Kroos), age 80, of Elmore, OH passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 under Hospice Care at Parkcliffe of Northwood. She was born August 17, 1942 in Elmore, OH to the late Henry & Sara (Overmyer) Kroos, where she remained a lifelong resident of Elmore. She was a 1960 graduate of Elmore High School. On May 6, 1962 she married Ronald Pasty who preceded her in death June 8, 2004. She first worked in the office at Brush Beryllium (now Materion), and then the Harris-Elmore Public Library of which she retired. Barb was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Elmore of which she was a regular fixture in the balcony.

Barb loved spending time with her dog Lucy, her friends “The Classmates, The Bowlers, The Golfers, and The Brew Crew”. She got her first passport when she turned 50, with a birthday trip to Germany to visit relatives, and that opened up the world to her, traveling with family and friends for years afterward. She had a map of the world on the wall with pushpins indicating every place she’d visited. When not traveling, she spent time in her yard, working on cross-stitch works of art, reading and hanging out with grandkids. Back in the day, she enjoyed golf, bowling, cake decorating, and sewing.

Survivors include her children: Michelle Leuchtner, Kim (Rodger) Jimison, and Mike (Jeni) Pasty; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald, parents, and siblings: Norman Kroos, Peg Sherk, and Kenneth Kroos.

A Memorial Service will begin at 11am on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Elmore with burial to be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to: Harris-Elmore Public Library, St. John’s United Church of Christ, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
