Avolene E. Hilditch

Avolene E. Hilditch, 89, of Mentor and formerly of Port Clinton, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at Heartland of Mentor. She was born July 15, 1920 in Port Clinton, the daughter of the late David B. and Marcella (Smith) Jeremy. Mrs. Hilditch was a secretary at Davis Besse and the Ottawa County Clerk of Courts. She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; Grandmother Club where she was Grandmother of the Year; Port Clinton Lioness Club and a volunteer at Magruder Hospital for over 17 years. She enjoyed her family, knitting, cooking and she loved helping people. Surviving are her son: Pastor Phil (Lil) Hilditch of Mentor, grandchildren: Jonathon (Kristy) Hilditch, Rachel (Stephen) Warren, Micah Hilditch , Daniel Hilditch; seven great-grandchildren and her special dog: Casey. She was preceded in death by her sons: David and Wayne and her brother:Clarence Jeremy. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton where visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Pastor Phil Hilditch will be officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Victory Baptist Church, 8911 Lakeshore Dr., Mentor, OH 44060.
