Audrey Mae Kranz

Audrey M. Kranz, 86, of Elmore, Ohio, and Naples, Florida, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Genoa Care Center, Genoa, Ohio. She was born on April 25, 1927 in the house where she now lives ( built by her great-grandfather), the only child of Leonard & Alberta (Haar) Stange. Audrey worked at the former Brush-Wellman Corporation, Elmore, and the former Lasalle's Department Store in downtown Toledo. She retired as a supervisor at the Lucas County Welfare Department, where she had worked for 20 years. A long time member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore, Audrey taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She was a member of the Holiday Ramblers Campers Club and enjoyed collecting Hummel figurines. An avid fan of everything and anything Disney, Audrey was a charter member of the Disney Vacation Club and held a season pass every year since Walt Disney World opened. She greatly enjoyed cruising with her family on Disney Cruise Lines, and shopping for jewelry in St. Maarten, N.A. On October 2, 1948, Audrey married Leonard "Jack" Kranz, and he survives. Also surviving is her son, Robert Lee Kranz, Elmore, Ohio; daughter, Anne Marie (Gary) Smothers, Elmore; and grandchildren, Andrea (Brian) Meinardi, Pickerington, Ohio and Melissa Jensen (Alan) Schroeder, Elmore; and great-granddaughter, Peyton Meinardi and 2 great-grandchildren due this year. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive friends from 2-6 P.M. Monday, June 3, 2013 at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 West State Route 51, where services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Monday. Rev. William Bartholomew will officiate.
