Arthur West Jr., 61 of Oak Harbor, OH and formerly of Los Angeles, CA died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the home of his son in Oak Harbor. He was born October 11, 1950 in Middletown, OH to the late Arthur West Sr., and Mildred L. (Stanifer) Calland. He was a 1968 graduate of Clark County Vocational School, Springfield, OH. Arthur then served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his enlistment he lived in California for nearly 30 years. He worked for 24 years at Southern California Gas Company in Pacoima, CA, until moving back to Ohio in 1998 to help care for his mother. He was currently employed with Frontier Communications as a Commercial Communications Specialist; He was a member of the Oak Harbor Alliance Chapel and Communication Workers of America in Marion, OH. Survivors include his children: Arthur West III of Oak Harbor, Adam West of Castalia, OH, and Jessica West of Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren; 1 great- grandchild; brothers Michael West of London, OH & John Calland of Fort Worth, TX; sisters: Jeannie Behm of Centerville, OH, Roberta Duval of Orlando, FL, Linda Richardson of Huron, OH, Lucinda Fillmore of Oak Harbor, and Sarah Chapman of Warrensburg, MO; father Richard Calland. Services will begin at 1pm Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. The Family will receive friends from 11am until the time of service. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Salem Twp. Memorial Contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
