Arthur Ray Royster, 72, of Oak Harbor, OH ascended peacefully to be with the Lord and Savior on January 25, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was born October 27, 1950 to the late Albert and Mary Royster. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War. He married Caroline Barker on August 6, 1971. He retired from The Civilian Marksmanship Program in 2016. He enjoyed traveling to the Smokey Mountains, wood working and spending time with his family.
Arthur Ray will be deeply missed by his loving wife: Caroline; daughter: Tammy (Dwayne) Pennington of Marblehead; son: Tim Royster of Port Clinton; beloved grandfather of: Cody (Ryan Periandri) Pennington, Kaitlyn Pennington, Michael (Andrea) Pennington, Renanda Pennington; cherished great-grandfather of: Zoey Parks, Brynlee Pennington, Kailei Webster; loving brother to: Judy Crisco, Jim (LaVonne) Royster, Donald (Robin) Royster, Randy Royster, Robert (Peg) Royster; brother-in-law to: Shirley (Larry) Geist, Marcella (David) Mowel and a host of close, devoted, nieces, nephews, extended family members and many dear friends. Arthur Ray was preceded in death by his brothers: Albert Royster, Walter Royster; sister: Lodis Royster and brothers-in-law: Sam Crisco, Danny Barker and mother-in-law: Virginia Bevins.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, January 27, 2023 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, January 28, 2023 with Jim Royster officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH. Pall Bearers assisting at the service will be: Tim Royster, Dwayne Pennington, Cody Pennington, Ryan Periandri, Kaitlyn Pennington, Michael Pennington, Randy Royster and Donald Royster. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Cancer Services of Sandusky, 505 E.
