Arthur James "Jim" Hauser, 81, of Port Clinton, died Friday July 3, 2009 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. He was born January 31, 1928 in Port Clinton, the son of Frederick and Catherine (Foley) Hauser. Jim was a graduate of Campion Jesuit High School and attended the Ohio State University. He retired in 1992 from General Motors in Sandusky after 38 years. Jim was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Knights of Columbus council 1750. Jim loved to ice fish, garden, paint and listen to classical music. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Suzanne J. (Ganther) whom he married on June 28, 1952; son John (Mary Beth) Hauser of Delaware; daughters Jeanne (Scott) Hitchings of Port Clinton, Theresa Ann Hauser of St Thomas, USVI and Margie (Mike) Hauser of Estes Park, CO; grandchildren Erin House, Brian Hitchings, Robyn Hauser, Patrick Hauser, Evan Schirtzinger, Laurel, Eric and Ivy Todd. Jim was preceded in death by a son Eric Joseph, his parents, brother Robert F. Hauser and sisters Barbara L. Hauser, Mary Ellen Hauser and Regina Rontty. Friends may call from 2 7 pm Tuesday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. John C. Missler officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church or School or to Stein Hospice.
