Arden W. Rogers

Arden W. Rogers, 86, of LakesideMarblehead, OH died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. He was born September 11, 1924 in Upper Sandusky the son the late John T. and Cora P. (Bupp) Rogers. He married Eva "Jean" Platt on March 7, 1946 and she preceded him in death on June 9, 2008. Mr. Rogers retired from New Departure where he was an engineer. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II where he was in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Lakeside, OH and the Upper Sandusky Council #98 R. S. M. He was previously a member of the Marblehead Vol. Fire Department and a Ham Radio Operator. He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing and model trains. Surviving are his son: Bob (Julia) Rogers of Louisville, KY; daughter: Pauline Boyd of Marblehead, OH; grandchildren: Meredith Eva Rogers, Stephanie (John) Donahue, Jessica Boyd; great-grandchildren: Michael Donahue and Lucas Donahue. He was preceded in death by his wife and brother: Russell Rogers. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, LakesideMarblehead, OH where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, February 7, 2011. Rev. Kay Cox will be officiating. Interment will be in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township. Memorial contributions may be given to First United Church of Christ or Stein Hospice.
