Anthony C. Cipiti

Anthony C. Cipiti, 91, of Port Clinton, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at his home. He was born September 1, 1927 in Cleveland, OH the son of William and Josephine (Citriglia) Cipiti. He married Janeane Cover on August 1, 1950 and she survives. Mr. Cipiti retired from Standard Oil Co. of Ohio. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing golf. He was also a stout supporter of the PCHS football team (where he played as #41 in his day) Tony, as his friends called him, was a Port Clinton institution unto himself--it was hard to walk more than a few blocks with him before encountering a friend or acquaintance. Quick with a kind word, patient as a saint, and a firm believer in "Let it go" before it became a Disney hit, hell be remembered as a man of incredible compassion and kindness. He loved nothing more than to spend his time and resources on his family and friends. Surviving are his children: William (Sharon) Cipiti of Sylvania, OH, Linda (Rick) Baechle of Maumee, OH, Nancy Cipiti of Seattle, WA; grandchildren: Eric (Lisa) Nobis of Seattle, WA, Alison (Curt Hart) Nobis of Redmond, OR, Derek (Kelly) Cipiti of Sylvania, OH, Ashley (Andrew) Scasny of Centerville, OH, Ryan (Emily) Baechle of Toledo, OH, Ross (Rebecca) Baechle of Oahu, HI; great-grandchildren: Liam Nobis, Kellen Nobis, Griffin Nobis, Grayson Cipiti, River Cipiti, Lucy Baechle, Jack Baechle, Noah Baechle, Zoe Baechle and Juliet Baechle; sisters: Rosemary (Ron) Mainous of Port Clinton and Marion Colantonio of Port Clinton, OH. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Minnie Hammond, Santo Cipiti and JoAnne Cutcher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John Missler 10:00 am Friday, September 14, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St. Port Clinton, OH. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH.
