Anna Marie Weichman, 81, entered the gates of Heaven on October 13 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Anna was born to the late Adaline (Bare) and Ralph Workman on April 1, 1942 in Willard, Ohio. After graduating from Shelby High School in 1960, Anna continued her education and earned her Associates Degree from Stautzenberger College in Secretarial Services.
In 1962 she married Paul Weichman of Oak Harbor, where they became lifelong residents.
Surviving Anna are her brother, John (Rose) Workman of Crestline; daughters Shari (Scott) Fick of Port Clinton and Joan (Gary) Druyor of Oak Harbor; Grandchildren: Mindy (Zack) Williams, Stephanie (Billy) Runyon, Nicholas Druyor, and Erin Druyor; nephew Joel (Kayla) Workman and niece Laurel Buckner; Great- grandchildren: Ethan, Addyson, and Owen Runyon and Aspyn Williams; and Sister-in-law Susie Weichman. Preceding Anna in death are her husband Paul Weichman, parents Addie and Ralph Workman, and brother-in-law Richard Weichman.
Anna and Paul spent many years as small business owners, running "Celebrations Unlimited" in Oak Harbor where they shared their love of baking with the community. Anna will be remembered as a compassionate and selfless human who not only regularly attended St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, but volunteered for many years with them. She also worked as a caregiver for Luther Home of Mercy as well as in a private home health care setting.
Anna loved making memories, there wasn’t a birthday party or holiday that went by where she didn’t have a camera in her hand. She valued her friendships and loved her lunch outings! Her grandchildren will always think of her as a unique gift-giver and will miss the annual calendars.
